Product design and packaging

Product label design by TDC. Amazing, delicious, local products by Granville Island Soap Company — at Granville Island, Vancouver.

In collaboration with the owner Darren, TDC came up with a distinct style for all of his handmade products.

From soap to night cream, scrubs and sprays, the look was easily adapted to each of the product lines using bold, fresh colour palettes.

So, if you have something that needs a unique package, then contact TDC. We can work with any scale, big or small, and find the right look and feel for your products.

It’s all about the brand.

It’s all about the brand. It’s a good part of what makes an organization or business successful.

The best ones all share the same thing, they are consistent. Your brand is key to creating an identity to help build your audience or market. Coming up with a logo can be the toughest part. How can one image convey all the things you represent? Or is simpler the way to go?

We’ll walk you through that, while maintaining your budgetary needs. Please see the samples below.

Winning campaign communications

TDC was proud to have been a part of many campaigns. Offering professional and political ground communications materials, TDC can help build a strong visual campaign for whatever the cause.

TDC has worked on everything from government and union elections to issues-based campaigns. See below for some of the materials designed by TDC.

Websites that are simple to use and make

Talking Dog uses the open source management systems of both Nationbuilder and WordPress.

If you are looking to create a campaign, or advocate on behalf of a cause and want your audience involved, then Nationbuilder is the way to go. Versatile and mostly free, Nationbuilder allows you to keep track of the most useful details needed to help your cause, plus it’s a great fundraiser and organizer. Talking Dog can help develop that nation for you, and if you need to take it further, we will work with local support people to help figure out your unique needs.

If you’re looking to create a website that is simply talking about your organization, what we call a brochure site, then WordPress is what you need. Using  the open source content management system of WordPress, we can make a easy-to-use, simple and clean website for your organization. And we’ll make sure your staff can use it too. Having control over your website is important, and TDC makes sure you get a product that you can actually use independently.

Here are some of the websites we’ve worked on at TDC. Using WordPress, TDC takes existing templates and customizes them to suit your needs. The results are easy-to-use and affordable. Whether you need a small campaign site, or something more comprehensive that defines your non-profit, we can help.

If you want a little more, we can do that too, partnering with the best to make sure you get a custom CMS that meets your needs.

Magazines

Many organizations produce a magazine or newsletter once a month or when they can afford to. It keeps their membership up-to-date on all the good work. Sometimes limited to only a few issues a year, they’ve got to hit the nail on the head when expressing what’s new, what’s important and what’s coming up. Talk to TDC today, and find out how we can make your magazine sing.

Branding the background

Talking Dog Communications recently helped out the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority on a job for the Transgender Health Information Program. They needed their website to pop more, to visually capture their diversity and community. TDC came up with this, it’s all of that and more, representing the differences we have and yet we come together as one mountain range.

Using the blue/greens from their logo and from the world around us, we created a landscape which interconnects as much as this program does in our community.

Questions for the candidate

redford2Elections are a difficult contest to win. Your whole life changes as you place yourself out there for people to vote for. Everything you believe in, everything you do, people are watching and waiting to see if you will be the best choice.

So, if you’re going to run, you might as well give it the best shot you can. Whether it’s for your union or Board of Directors, or even MLA or MP, we can guide you through the campaign process. We will make sure you have thought of or have the following things:

  • Why are you running in this election?
  • Have you thought of the impact this will have on you and your family?
  • Do you realize the amount of time it will take to run in an election?
  • What are your campaign issues?
  • Do you have a budget?
  • Do you have a good and complete list of contacts?
  • How do you plan on contacting your list to get support? Fundraise?
  • Have you had any media training?
  • Have you established your social media accounts?
  • Do you know how to dress and look the part?
  • Do you have a slogan, brochure or website?

This list could go on for a while, but you get the idea. And if you have asked yourself these questions or need some help getting the answers, give us a call. Jumping into the public arena can be a difficult and exposing experience, but if you have the right campaign team and support, well you just might surprise yourself and win.
